Construction of External Areas for Teaching
During the warmer months many primary school teachers like to teach outdoors and we have built some covered areas with open sides. This lets the warm air through but keeps any unwelcome rain at bay. Whilst Picnic tables are also a welcome feature in the summer months, when the children are keen to work and play outdoors.
When landscaping large areas of school land, occasionally it can be affected by our actions, where reasonably practicable we return the areas to the exact same condition or better than before we arrived. If we do disturb wildlife then all members of staff will react immediately to rectify the problem and attempt to return the wildlife to a safe location.
If a school requires any significant landscaping requiring earth moving activities, then T&M Landscapes can help you with doing this. We have our own diggers and can excavate ground and create drainage ditches or foundations for out-buildings. Within T&M Landscapes we are very conscious of the heavy machinery we employ in creating some of the landscaping projects. All this machinery and equipment is powered using fossil fuel energies. Spillage of diesel or oil is one of the greatest environmental impacts we can create and due to the number of occasions we are required to re fill our fuel tanks on ride on mowers, strimmers and chain saw or equivalent machines we are aware of that risk of spillage. We always carry a spill kit in each of our vehicles and then use a drip tray and a spill free nozzle on all of our fuel carrying containers.
